NYFW Edit – Fall 2016 Ready to Wear

NYFW Edit – Fall 2016 Ready to Wear

New York Fashion Week is upon us again. Downtown Manhattan has transformed into a sea of bloggers, editors, models and celebrities.

What’s exciting this year is several brands such as Burberry,Vetements and Tom Ford are showing collections that are currently available to purchase. Normally we all have to wait until the following season.

If you are as fashion obsessed as myself you can watch a live stream of the shows on

My favourite collections so far have been Rosie Assoulin , Saloni, Zimmermann and Victoria Beckham.

Saloni presented us with her signature easy wear printed dresses inspired by a hand painted print of antique lush flowers and birds. She also included jackets, pants and skirts and every piece had some sort of texture.

Victoria Beckham returned to the hour glass silhouette by reinstating the corset shape that she launched her label with. Her twist for Fall 16 is to make the corset appropriate for daywear and the way she layered corsets over knitwear was perfect.  I loved the checks and the houndstooth jacquards, the slight bubble skirts and midi skirt lengths. I also loved the midi dresses worn with flat pointed toe shoes.

Zimmermann’s fall 16 Mirror Mirror collection was inspired by India and its colors and the way mirror bits are often worked into textiles. The collection was a feminine and playful take on India. There was a lot happening with the collection however, broken into separates there are many pieces I would love in my wardrobe including the bomber jackets , maxi dresses and jumpsuits.  The range is young,  fun and exuded coolness. I think we will see many celebrities wearing Zimmermann’s Fall 16 collection.
