Milan Fashion Week SS16 Edit

Milan Fashion Week SS16 Edit

Dolce and Gabbana’s SS16 collection is a tribute to the Italian Woman. ITALIA IS LOVE. An ode to Stefano and Domenico’s homeland…. from the tacky fridge magnets to the red gingham tablecloths, no detail was missed. We saw 50s silhouettes in rich laces, floral motifs, red, white and green stripes, 60s shift dresses with postcard prints splashed across them, slim skirt suits in crochet raffia, delectable straw bucket bags decorated with pom-poms, sandals with cork or painted wood heels, cotton-poplin sun-dresses and very large oversized sunglasses. Models took selfies as they walked the catwalk and also included the audience with these images being flashed across the screens. Another fabulous collection.

Alessandro Michele presented his 2nd collection for Gucci on the opening day of Milan fashion week. Models walked down a printed carpet runway against the backdrop of a disused train station. The collection was multi coloured, sparkly and dazzling with a vintage retro feel. I loved the green lace dress with sporty belt, the lurex knits, retro prints, ruffles, bows, green boots with flared heels, ghillies laces, rococo blue satin and the new look Dionysus Bag….. oh and the oversized glittery sunglasses.  This range will be in high demand for Ss16.

Alberta Ferretti’s collection for SS16 – A feeling of lightness that comes with freedom. The models walked down the catwalk with a backdrop of the desert. Alberta Ferretti’s collections are all about beautiful intricate dresses. We also saw lacy white cotton pieces, corded gladiator sandals, a patchwork shift dress in warm shades of brown suede, woven bodices, plait lace details and shredded skirts. This collection has a bohemian feel to it and so many pieces to love.
