La Mer Edit
Last Saturday I was treated to a facial using La Mer products at Mecca in James St, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. I was super excited because I have been using La Mer for about 10 years but have never never had a facial using their products.
Le Mer (French for The Sea) was developed by NASA physicist Max Huber who had sustained terrible burns in an accident and could not find any moisturising creams to effectively treat his skin. After 12 years of product development, he was happy with a cream using fermented kelp as the magic ingredient. Estée Lauder were impressed and picked up the distribution rights and it has since expanded to include a complete range of skin care and cosmetics.
The skin care range it amazing. It promises to help bring skin back to its centre through moisture, regeneration, soothing, smoothing and radiance. And it does.
The price point of La Mer is certainly up there however, speaking from experience each jar or bottle seems to go on forever and the results outweigh the price in my opinion. When I can’t afford to have the serum or the eye cream I just use the La Mer Creme de la Mer on my whole face including eye cream. I picked up this tip once when in New York from a lovely assistant at the La Mer counter in Barney’s who told me this cream works fabulously as an eye cream as well. I had blown my shopping budget in Isabel Marant and only had enough left for this product.
When I had my facial at Mecca I discovered The Concentrate. This serum complements skin’s natural healing process. I have been using this for one week and I think it’s amazing. My other favourites are – The Eye Concentrate , The Lip Balm , The Refining Facial, The Regenerating Serum, The Lifting and Firming Mask and The Reparative Body Lotion.
