Fashionable Friends and Family

Fashionable Friends and Family

Introducing one of my oldest and dearest friends Sammy Power. We met 16 years ago, I was a personal trainer studying architecture at university and Sammy was a radio host on Triple M in Brisbane. I offered Sammy some complimentary training sessions and after our first training session we went straight to the local pub for a glass of wine and the rest is history. We always have so much fun together.

Sammy has had a 28 year career in breakfast radio around Australia. Three years ago she returned to Brisbane to join her mother Jan Power at the Jan Powers Farmers Markets. Sammy is now the director of the markets and they have gone from strength to strength with her at the helm. This year Sammy was nominated for and was a  finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year awards.

Over the past 10 years Sammy has been exercising, eating right and in recent years she gave up drinking alcohol. The result is an incredible weight loss of 62kgs. I am very proud of her, she has worked hard for this and she looks fantastic. I love Sammy’s sense of style. She is very creative and always looks fantastic. Sammy knows how to put together and wear outfits that work for her body shape and personality.

Today Sammy is wearing a Diane Von Furstenburg Dress from Samantha Ogilvie at New Farm in Brisbane. Sammy says she loves this dress because it sucks everything in all the right places and highlights the good bits. She bought the black Paula Ryan Shrug from Toscani at the Emporium in Brisbane Fortitude Valley. Sammy doesn’t like showing her arms so she often wears a shrug or a elbow length top or dress sleeve to cover them. The Red heels are Nat Sui from The Emporium, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Sammys bracelets are from Inspire Stones on Facebook. Sammy said that you can ask for anything you want help with like strength, love, addiction, sleeplessness, cellulite and Lisa chooses stones to help you and makes them into a bracelet. What a great, thoughtful inexpensive gift idea.
