Camilla Edit MBFWA

Last week I attended the Camilla Parade for MBFWA. We gathered on a dock in Sydney Harbour for a 7am departure on a luxurious boat that was decked out with all things Camilla. The boat ferried us around Sydney Harbour with African Tribal Music playing while we sipped on freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices, coffee served in Camilla print disposable cups and non alcoholic Bloody Mary’s. The boat stopped with the Opera House in the background and the Camilla’s Resort 17 parade began.

I was lucky enough to be a guest of NET-A-PORTER and we had fabulous seats with the collection in full view. Models, surfers tribal dancers and musicians performed wearing her Jambo Jambo collection which was inspired by the boundless energy, love and kindness of the Masaai Tribe in Africa whom Camilla has spent time with.

Staying true to her aesthetic, Camilla’s new-season offering is loaded with luxury kaftans, skirts and playsuits decorated in her signature prints. A welcome addition was the menswear and I just love the printed surf boards. If only I could surf. They would look amazing in the corner of a room also or mounted on a wall. When the parade finished the music continued and many of the guests danced amid a crowd of Camilla’s models, friends and colleagues dressed in Camilla – of course!

Camilla made a last minute decision to host this lavish show given that many of her big buyers were coming to Sydney for MBFWA and she pulled it together with only two weeks notice. As always she did a fabulous job. I left the boat buzzing and inspired.
